Barn Love

Saturday, August 23, 2014

They are truly thrilled anytime we go to the barn, which isn't often enough, but we are working on that.  I started giving them "lessons" and they are so pleased.  I hope their enthusiasm for riding continues.  I am amazed by how quickly they are picking it up.  Kids are astounding!
She is a natural and pretty darn cute on a horse.

He fell back on his bum and make this face.  It might make for a funny greeting card if the picture quality was a little better. :)

How could I not share this with you?!
After playing outside all morning, he was hot, dirty, and ready for his nap,  but still managed to belt this out.  Yes, I got teary;)

How we love this precious little boy, our fourth.  Do they grow any less special or somewhat common the more you have?  On the contrary, I think our hearts have been stretched through parenthood and we cherish him, them all the more!  He brings such joy.  He is talking, talking, talking, and doing everything to keep up with his siblings and cousins.  I'm not sure what an easy-going child looks like? (ha!) as I think each one of ours are very determined.  His big brother just started reading, Little House in the Big Woods at 5 years old.  His oldest sister has taken it upon herself to plan out jobs and work for herself, and carefully write it in a planner the day before.  His dear friend, and partner in crime, Jules, has always been so very capable and committed to mastering new things.
I am proud of them and love them more than I can say.
He is a ham with lots of cheese!

David has mentioned bunk beds for the brothers; this will be the first time in eight years that we haven't had a crib set up.  This Mama is feeling a bit sentimental... these happy golden years!
Thank you to my sis for the pictures of him and I!

New Walking Route

Saturday, August 2, 2014

We discovered a new walking route while taking lunch to the blackcap planting crew.  It is fun for a change, even though we come back completely filthy, hot, and tired from our adventure.  We walk along and through fields, past horses and an orchard, and even explore an abandoned mansion that is so dreamy!  Long Live Summer!
