Rainy Day Fun

Monday, October 11, 2010

Our October sunshine quickly vanished and we were left with a few rainy, but cozy days.  The kids caught colds so we are fighting them with a vengeance (they have to be well for the wedding on Saturday!) and keeping ourselves amused.
Here is the captain of our 'boat' taking his job quite seriously.
Olivia "rowing"
And now holding on for dear life as her brother takes her through treacherous waters.
We have as much fun as possible with the kitchen chairs when it is time to clean the floors.

Baking and eating cookies is fun in the rain.  Olivia loved making the "crisscross".
She got the vintage Pocahontas book on our recent beach trip.  She wanted to dress up in her GW Pocahontas dress, read her book, AND have me take her picture!:)
We also like to make wassail when it is dreary outside and/or we're sick.
Mix equal parts pineapple juice, orange juice and apple juice with a few dashes of cinnamon and a cinnamon stick.  It makes the house smelly so yummy.
I hear our sunshine will be back this week, so let's hope!

  1. I bet the wassil made your house smell so wonderful and help throats feel better too! I loved all those chair ideas, too cute! Get better and have a blast at the wedding!

  2. You had me at wassail! I jumped up from the computer and started a batch (w/o orange juice because we don't have it). We are going to enjoy a warm cup with a special cookie made with love by Olivia (and her mom). Sure makes the afternoon seem much more nice :)

Get better and have a blast at the wedding!
